Turn Your Smart TV into a Smart Art Frame

Today’s giant screens can be an eye-sore in a room when they’re not in use. Why not use them as a focal point to display art? Many current Smart TV’s already come with a gallery.

If you have an older model you can upload photos and can use Apple TV screen saver > iCloud, the Google Chromecast ambient mode > art gallery, Amazon Fire TV’s screen saver option or ROKU screen saver which can connect to your Google Photo gallery.

It doesn’t matter which device you use to display art on your TV, you will want to choose images that look good in a large format. And make sure the artwork is the correct aspect ratio. Widescreen TVs have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Digital prints can be found online from collections like the Smithsonian (https://www.si.edu/openaccess, www.si.edu/spotiighVbackgrounds) National Gallery of Art (www.nga.gov/open-access-images.html) The Met (www.metmuseum.org/art/collection Click Open Access Artworks).

Once you have your collection of images uploaded, with a few clicks your screen can display wonderful Images while you’re not watching TV.
